Although the origins of this family in America are unclear, the original immigrant is thought to be George Keesee, a Huguenot immigrant to Henrico County, Virginia, circa 1700. One son was Richard Keesee (c. 1729-1794) who was in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Richard had a son George Faris Keesee (died in 1825 in Sumner County, Tennessee)who married Agnes (Terry?). George F. Keesee's children married into the Smith, McKnight, Mills, Lyon, Henry, Saunders/Sanders, and Ball families. Descendants spread out through Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. All other Keesee lines also welcome.
